Sybel Matheus
Venezuelan-American actress, singer, voice-over artist, and journalist whose artistic journey began at a very young age.
Born and raised in Venezuela and now based in Miami, Sybel discovered her passion for the performing arts when she began singing at just eight years old. During her elementary school years, she studied at a Conservatory of Music and Arts, where music, artistic expression, and performance became an important part of her early development. What began as a childhood passion eventually evolved into a lifelong connection to the stage and screen.
Sybel later earned a degree in Social Communication with a specialization in Audiovisual Media from Universidad Dr. Rafael Belloso Chacín (URBE) in Venezuela. Her background in journalism and audiovisual communication gave her valuable experience in television, storytelling, and connecting naturally with an audience.
After relocating to Miami, Sybel continued developing her acting career and studied at the Adriana Barraza Acting Studio, founded by internationally acclaimed Mexican actress Adriana Barraza, an Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominated performer recognized for her work in major Hollywood films, including Babel, as well as numerous international film and television productions.
Sybel currently continues her professional training with actor, producer, director, and acting coach Rubén Morales, a respected industry professional with more than four decades of experience in television, film, and theater. Throughout his career, Morales has worked as an actor, producer, director, and acting coach and has contributed to major Spanish-language productions associated with networks and production companies such as Telemundo and Televisa. Under his guidance, Sybel continues strengthening her character development, scene work, emotional preparation, auditions, and on-camera performance.
She also completed the VIP Ignite 21-Day Challenge, strengthening her knowledge of self-tapes, casting preparation, monologue development, and the business of the entertainment industry.
Her recent screen credits include My Loud Stillness (2026), directed by Miguel Miller; More Messi (2025); and Telemundo's Velvet: El Nuevo Imperio (2025), where she portrayed a journalist under the direction of Miguel Varoni, Richard Schwarz, and Danny Gavidia.
Her additional credits include the comedy film Ni Tan Largo, under the direction and production of Evil Iriarte, as well as Requiem para una Rosa Blanca, produced by Andrés Di Bono.
In addition to acting, Sybel has extensive experience as a professional singer, including years performing with live bands and musical productions. Her musical background gives her a strong command of voice, rhythm, emotional expression, and stage presence. She is a mezzo-soprano and performs in both English and Spanish.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Sybel brings her Venezuelan-American heritage and multicultural perspective to her work, combining emotional depth, strength, femininity, and versatility on screen. She is especially drawn to dramatic, action, and character-driven roles, including complex and powerful female characters with meaningful stories to tell.
Now based in Miami, Florida, Sybel is focused on expanding her career in film and television across the U.S., Latin American, and international markets. Her ultimate goal is to take on substantial speaking roles in major Hollywood productions and establish herself as a versatile international actress.
For Sybel, performing has never simply been a career choice. From the eight-year-old girl discovering her voice through music to the actress pursuing larger stages and screens today, storytelling has always been at the heart of who she is.
